At a recent press conference held for upcoming Channel 8 drama series, Daddy at Home, veteran actors Chen Hanwei and Li Nanxing spoke about their acting experience with each other. Tickled by Hanwei's character's humorous dialogue in the show, Nan Xing revealed that he had a hard time concentrating in his scenes with the latter.
The veteran actor was unafraid that Hanwei might end up as the scene-stealer in the drama series. With a laugh, he said, "No! I really love it! His character gives off a very refreshing feeling. Comparing my upper-class character with his, there is a really big difference. There is no such thing as a scene-stealer, nothing of this sort. Dispose of such thoughts and it will be easy for you to portray a good performance."
While he typically takes on only one drama project annually, Nanxing took on two series this year, namely The Ultimatum and Daddy at Home. The actor shared that he took on this role because he knew that Hanwei will be acting in it.
A shocked Hanwei replied, "Is this true? Before filming began, I felt a little stressed to be starring opposite him. It has been so many years since we have acted together, furthermore, it is to act against an Ah Ge."
The 44-year-old Nanxing explained his choice of doing his second drama series this year, sharing that Daddy At Home had an interesting storyline. He further revealed that he did not mind acting as Hanwei's character in the show - perm, potbelly and all, as it had more room for development.
