  Posted On: 28-12-2009 460 Views

LONDON match on Monday.

They trailed 4-2 with 89 minutes played but added two more late goals to stun their promotion-chasing rivals who looked set for all three points until the dramatic finale.

Cardiff raced into a 2-0 lead after 23 minutes with two goals from Wales international Joe Ledley. Jay Bothroyd increased the lead to 3-0 with an individual goal after 32 minutes and Peter Whittingham made it 4-0 with a free-kick just before halftime.

Josh Simpson and Charlie Lee halved Cardiff's lead after 68 minutes, before an 89th minute strike from George Boyd and a fourth goal in the third minute of stoppage time from Simpson gave bottom-of-the-table Peterborough a point.

Cardiff's promotion-chasing rivals West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest both won to open up a gap on the Welsh side with West Brom winning 3-1 at Scunthorpe United and Forest beating Coventry City 2-0, their 16th unbeaten league match.
